Coincidentally, Gleason’s character joins Frank’s group. The experimental group begins a year in a cabin away from the city in Ireland, but like almost everything else in the film, it doesn’t work out for them. The description of this plan will be very long. Suffice it to say, it’s a weird and delightful movie, funny and downright sad.

Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan as a heart surgeon and a teenage son whose father dies during surgery. The relationship between these two (and their families) is disturbing. One by one, Farrell’s family begins to fall ill, and Keogan informs him that as compensation for his father’s death, Farrell must sacrifice one of his family members. Like Lanthimus’ other films, it’s hard to pin this film down to a genre because it’s so interesting, unsettling, and full of weird and different games.
