A look at the movie “Shahrak” / justifying why the actors’ behavioral deviations

Fars News Agency, Cinema Group: The movie “Shahrak” is the title of a work directed and written by another Aghazadegan present at the “Fortieth Festival”. A festival where “good genes” and a relatively large number have been able to show their work in the process. The movie “Shahrak” is the life story of a boy named “Navid Falahati”, a student and actor who is invited to an important movie project after testing his acting and accepts all its difficult conditions and commits to produce the film for the entire three months. Be with the filmmaking group. This course is planned to establish the feeling and atmosphere of the film for the actor, and the actors must live away from the family and in the simulated space of the film character’s life. In this way, Navid, in the role of Farhad Modaber, is quarantined or isolated in the training and pre-production space in a small town, but during training, he finds “feelings” and “lust” towards the girl who plays the opposite role and his fiancé. What happens next makes him doubt that all the events that took place are real or fictitious …

The movie “Shahrak” has tried to be a story of human evolution; An interesting idea, which of course is a copy of Western cinema productions, and its main subject is from works such as the movie “Truman Show”. This is why, from the point of view of the idea of storytelling, the movie “Shahrak” can in fact be considered an Iranian version of such works, and of course with some differences. Of course, this relatively good idea is associated with a weak and useless script, and this causes it to be wasted and stops the communication between the audience and the story only under the influence of its copied idea.

The movie “Town”, although it was able to provide relatively acceptable decoupage; But in no way do these decoupage work to serve the story of the film, and it appears as a film as if it were not intended to form a story from the beginning, and only an initial idea caused it to begin to stretch in 105 minutes. A film that can add nothing but “erotic fantasies” and disgrace of “homosexuality” to its audience, and that is why the existence of something called mezzanine in this film is meaningless.

Of course, the movie “Shahrak” is free from all its meaningless aspects as a movie; It can also be considered as an “anti-cinema” work. A work that makes the world of filmmaking and acting so ugly that people practically lose their identity in the process of being in it and are forced to forget their reality and make them fascinated by the relationships of the worlds imagined by the directors. Directors who are not seen and actors who serve them as tools! Actors trapped in the brutal world of cinema who eagerly endure any emptiness on the screen and are even willing to change their “real lifestyle”.

It is from this perspective that the movie “Shahrak” goes beyond its “quasi-erotic” appearance; As a non-storytelling work, it tries to depict the captivity of artists in the cruel world of cinema. A special illustration that has the function of justifying the contradictory behavior of some actors and making tangible changes in their daily lives and distorting their daily behavior in the short term, and the existence of numerous emotional and real divorces in the private lives of cinema and theater actors and virtual relationships. They find the color of truth and replace the previous relationships and the family center makes them tense, framing and narrating! Frames that bring “hidden sex” to the silver screen in such sequences that it will essentially limit the viewing of the film with the family. A film that, due to its many weaknesses, does not have the ability to attract a cinematic audience and will experience a serious failure at the box office; Unless the sharpening of the erotic scenes brought the initial charm to the work.
