“Cinema House”‘s opposition to the new regulations for issuing cinema licenses

According to Fars news agency, Khaneh Cinema sent to the Arts Council and the Cultural Revolution Council regarding the issuance of a film production license and the issuance of a play license.

This letter states:

“In the name of God

Honorable Chairman of the Council of Arts, Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution

Dear Mr. Dr. Esmaili

Greetings and Regards

As you know, apparently, the regulations related to the councils for issuing film production licenses and issuing screening licenses are supposed to be proposed in a new format in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. Since there was no participation from the cinema house in the process of drafting the mentioned by-laws, and it is logically better and even necessary to approve the by-laws and regulations that directly relate to each professional field, in interaction with related trade unions, therefore it is strongly requested. Order to prevent these regulations from being brought up in the council.

Obviously, after presenting the prepared drafts, the issue will be raised in joint working groups and summarized more consistently.

In addition, earlier, the level of opposition of the Iranian cinema guilds to the said draft has been announced to the head of the cinematographic organization.
