cinema of the country; From the end of comedies due to Muharram to the release of “After Leaving”

According to the film reporter of Fars news agency, Iranian cinema has faced many comedy works since the beginning of 1402 until now, some of them were successful in attracting the audience and most of them remained at the box office.

During this period, the cinema sales record was broken by a comedy, and of course, a number of important and effective films in social genres were under the shadow of comedies so that their audience was less than expected.

Now, according to the resolution of the Drama Guild Council, with the arrival of the first ten days of the month of Muharram, the screening of comedy films will be stopped from Thursday, July 29 in cinemas across the country.

Perhaps this is a good opportunity for works such as “Night Watchman”, “Maslehat” and “Leather Coat” to experience equal conditions to attract the audience with the withdrawal of competitors.

In addition to these films, “After Leaving” has recently received a screening license and registered its release contract. In yesterday’s meeting of the trade union council, the contract of the film “After Leaving” directed by Reza Nejati and produced by Mahmoud Babaei was announced. The broadcast of Shahr Farang was recorded by the leader of Mellat Campus. The first screening of this film was at the 40th Fajr Film Festival.

After leaving, it is the story of a man named Arash (played by Saber Abar) who, after many struggles of city life and divorce, traveled to the south of the country with his wife (Sara Bahrami) to stay away from the noise, various events made him return to the city and The beginning of the story is “after leaving”.

Cinema critic Amirhossein Makariani wrote about this film: “After leaving, without having a new subject, it intends to bring the world of the audience closer to the mental space of the main character of the film, to align the concerns and accompany the film until the final minutes, but in the creation The situations are not very successful and in the audience’s encounter with the general atmosphere of the film, it does not lead to a deep impact on the audience’s mind and psyche. A film that is close to the nature and essence of short cinema films in its story and structure and can become a more acceptable work in short cinema with a better payment. Reza Nejati’s first film can be seen as a slow start but close to cinematic standards, and it is expected to reach a more acceptable and spectacular work in the following years by making more films and having a better script.

Mohammad Ghorbani also wrote about this movie: “In addition to having no story, the characters of the movie are also abandoned. After the man and his son return to their father’s house, no connection is made between the characters. The man’s fight with his father remains unpaid, the relationship between the man and his brother is not developed, and the mother can be completely removed from the film. Instead of creating these characters and their relationships, the filmmaker just clings to Saber Abar and constantly takes close shots of him to force us to accompany him; An event that is possible with the story and the action of the character, not with occasional close-ups.”

“After Leaving” may have a good chance to be seen when it opens in theaters without comedy, a film that has many actors who can attract audiences to the theaters, although considering the clichéd stories, the script’s lack of tension and other issues. Maybe the audience will not leave the movie theater satisfied.

Saber Abar is one of these actors who seems to be able to help attract the audience of this film, Makariani wrote about Abar’s presence in this film: “Saber Abar in this film by repeating the same roles that he has played many times in Iranian cinema (which in a way started with About Eli (Asghar Farhadi) and has been repeated in films such as Here Without Me (Bahram Tavakoli), The End of Eighth Street (Alireza Amini), Snow on the Pines (Piman Maadi) and… has reached a detailed analysis of this role in order to intensify the cold and sad atmosphere that Mona (played by Sara Bahrami) was involved in after leaving, but the main problem after leaving was the failed attempt of the writer and director to over-dramatize The event is to have the maximum effect on the audience and create more conflict between the audience and the world of the main character of the film.

Finally, it should be seen to what extent the audience will turn to other movie genres after the release of comic films in the cinema.
