Cinematographers’ discouragement has led to the production of home drama series

Kamran Hejazi, the producer of the film “Loser Man”, believes that the release of Nowruz did not meet the expectations of the filmmakers.
Theater News Base: Nowruz screening in Iran is always considered as a special and best-selling screening, and its films are usually very successful. This year, however, unlike previous years, this special release stagnated. The film “Loser Man” directed by Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian and produced by Kamran Hejazi and Amir Banan was one of the films selected for Nowruz. The film, starring Javad Ezzati and Rana Azadi, was screened for the first time at the 40th Fajr Film Festival.
Kamran Hejazi, stating that the sales of films at the Nowruz screening were not satisfactory, pointed out: This should be seriously pathologically examined what was the main reason for the decline in sales of Nowruz 1401. Maybe one of the reasons is the increase in ticket prices, but another point is that in the last two years, people did not travel like this year, but this year, because the corona had decreased, most people traveled during Nowruz. These cases, among other reasons, made this year one of the worst years for Nowruz. The films that were screened came out in the hope that they would flourish on Nowruz screenings and somehow break the cinema out of the corona and recession, but in practice it can be said that this did not happen.
Referring to the impact of Sada-e Azadi’s cooperation in selling films on Nowruz, he acknowledged: “Some films now have TV teasers, and television has also collaborated in this field.” This is a general case for all films that need support and encouragement at the time of release. The problem is that the lack of collaborations on the radio has not led to a stagnation of cinema alone. Apart from the fact that Sada-e Azadi has collaborated with some films and has not collaborated with others, the point is that we do not know why this has happened this year; We have not yet reached the cinematic colleagues who are looking for a reason for a specific reason. We expected more from the release of Eid; Not only our films but all films expected higher sales. This is the dilemma of our cinema today, how we are going to overcome the crisis created by Corona.
The producer pointed out that some combinations of movie screenings have caused the stagnation of Nowruz screenings, saying: “Except for the two comedy films that were asked to be released, there was no other composition that would save them.” The basket chosen for the Nowruz screening is a good basket, and I do not include the composition of the films in this regard. People are no longer in the habit of going to the cinema in these two years when the cinemas were closed or open, and when you move away from an issue, you no longer have an attraction to it. Take place.
The producer of “Losing Man” also said about the Iftar to Sahar screening plan: “This is an important event.” So far, we have tried to make this happen, but it has not happened yet, and I hope that the filmmakers and the union council will do the same, and that they have the plan to screen Iftar until Sahar this year as well. Because the first half of the Nowruz screening was during the Nowruz holidays and the second half of the screening coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, if this plan is implemented, it will compensate a little and help the movies and cinemas.
Hejazi said that one of the reasons for the non-implementation of this plan until today is the reluctance of cinematographers and said: Cinema should normally add strength and therefore requires the desire of cinematographers and they should cooperate. The fact that the cinematographers go to the new film after the screening of the film does not solve the sales problem; And other films will face the same sales trend, because we faced a recession at the best time of release, which is the release of Nowruz.
In the end, he added: “We were very disappointed with the future of this cinema with these conditions.” We hope that the right thing will happen and the cinema will prosper, because many people make a living because of this job, and if nothing happens to this story and the problem is not solved, the productions and motivations will decrease, and all cinematographers will turn to serialization in home shows and the like. Of course, it also has its sufferings.
