According to Fars News Agency’s urban correspondent, Rostam Ghasemi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, stated at the exchange ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and Tehran Municipality: The software infrastructure has been created to build 4 million houses in the country.

He stressed that the land is currently ready to load 1.5 million housing units, adding that this capacity will soon reach 2.4 million housing units in the country.

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development, noting that 800,000 housing units are currently under construction in cities and villages in the country, said: This capacity, along with 2,200 residential units in Mehr that are under construction; It has created a good capacity in the country.

Ghasemi, referring to the special facilities that the government intends to provide to applicants in new cities, said: “Soon, the plan to build 10,000 to 15,000 housing units in the provinces of the country will begin, and the necessary information will be provided to the people in this regard.”

Referring to the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the municipality of Tehran, he reminded: According to available statistics, 2.5 million housing units are in a dilapidated area that needs to be renovated. According to the plans, the construction of 150,000 residential units will start annually in each of the country’s metropolises, and in the implementation of this plan, the government will provide resources and facilities to the builders.

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated that the construction project of 150,000 housing units per year has started in other cities, and emphasized: with the signing of this memorandum with the efforts of Tehran Municipality, this project will also start in the capital.

Rostam Ghasemi, referring to the construction of only 10,000 housing units in the past years in the dilapidated area of ​​Tehran, said: “Considering the slow process of reviving the dilapidated area in Tehran, the construction of housing units in Tehran in line with this memorandum has compensated for these shortcomings.” And not only will the housing situation improve, but housing rents in the capital will also fall.

Referring to the granting of 450 million tomans of facilities for each residential unit to the builders, he added: “Also, a deposit of 60 million tomans has been considered for the construction of worn-out units.”

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development, noting that the Housing Leap Law will create a great change in housing production in the capital, said: “We are comfortable that there is a strong and determined person in Tehran Municipality to achieve the desired result in housing programs.” .

In the end, he emphasized: all the capacities of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development are at the service of the people of Tehran in order to create a great leap in improving the condition of the worn-out structures of the city.
