“Easy Rider” is also being remade

A remake of “Easy Rider,” starring Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda, was ordered.
Charso Press: A remake of the 1969 classic Easy Ride has been confirmed and is in the early stages.
A consortium consisting of several shareholders and producers have the rights to adapt this project, which was released by Columbia Pictures.
The original film “Easy Rider” has remained in the history of cinema by showing the changing socio-political landscape of America – especially from the point of view of the restless and progressive youth of that era.
Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda and Terry Southern wrote the script for this motorcycle-focused road epic, with Hopper directing and starring both himself and Fonda. The film also introduced a young Jack Nicholson.
“Easy Rider” or “Light Riders” was the first film that originated from the hippie protest movement and is considered one of the important symbolic films of this movement.
The producers of the new film are looking for bold writers or directors who can shape the project for the modern era with the same spirit. They cited Michael B. Jordan’s “Creed” and his relationship with “Rocky” as a role model.
Maurice Fadida, one of the producers, said: “Our goal is to give today’s youth a film that pays serious attention to countercultures and their challenges, based on the narrative of counterculture and freedom of expression, which is fundamental to us. He added: “What today’s young viewers experience in their daily lives may seem crazy to older generations, but it could very well become the social norm, as happened with the cultural shift of the late 1960s.” We hope we can play a role in this change.
“Easy Rider” won two Oscar nominations and was one of the contenders for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. This film has been recognized as one of the top 100 films of all time by the American Film Institute. This film, which was made with a budget of 400 thousand dollars, sold 60 million dollars at the global box office.
