320,000 visits to Qeshm Island tourist destinations until April 2



According to the information committee of the Central Headquarters of Travel Services Coordination, Afshar Fatehalahi, Head of the Executive Headquarters of Travel Services of Qeshm Island, presented the latest statistics of tourists visiting Qeshm recreational and tourist places on Nowruz 1401, stating: “Geotourism,” “Nature tourism (ecotourism) and understanding of geological phenomena on the island, the main approach of visiting 318 thousand and 76 tourists during the Nowruz holiday was to enter the island from March 16, 1400 to April 2, 1401.”

He added: “According to the recorded and reported statistics of tourist visits in four areas of environment, geoparks, cultural heritage sites and recreation centers on Qeshm Island, it has been determined that most of these visits are due to tourists’ desire to visit geological sites and “It was natural in Qeshm World Geopark.”

Qeshm Geopark is the first and only registered geopark in Iran and the Middle East, the area of ​​which is currently approximately equal to the total area of ​​Qeshm Island, except for the cities of Qeshm and Dargahan, ie about 1561 square kilometers.

Fathollahi continued: “In the field of environment, from March 16, 2014 to April 2, 1401, 32,515 tourists from the mangrove forest, 57,660 tourists from the dolphins of Hengam, 192 tourists from the turtle habitat, 150,500 tourists from the islands. “And 12,090 tourists have visited the islands of Hormuz and Lark.”

The head of Qeshm Island Travel Services explained: “In the geopark, 16,046 tourists from Star Valley, 2,405 tourists from Namakdan Cave, 13,600 tourists from Chahkuh Strait, 808 tourists from Tandisha Valley, 524 tourists from Geopark Museum and 37 “Tourists also visited the Goran Museum.”

Fathullah added: “In the field of cultural heritage, 2,453 tourists from the Portuguese castle, 415 tourists from the British cemetery, 124 tourists from the British checkpoint, 2,248 tourists from the historic port of Laft, 1438 tourists from the wells of Tala, 102 tourists from the Anthropological Museum And 149 people have visited the island’s private museums.

Regarding the reception of tourists from Qeshm recreation centers, he said: “In the field of recreation centers, 27 tourists have used air recreation, 1,186 tourists have used marine recreation, 1,914 tourists have used beach recreation and 2,209 tourists have used recreational boats in Qeshm.”

At the end, the Chief of Staff of Qeshm Island Travel Services announced that 15,677 tourists had visited the island’s handicraft booth and said: “So far, 2 billion 341 million and 80 thousand Rials have been earned from the sale of handicrafts.”
