According to IRNA, the Indian Taekwondo Federation has always tried to use Iranian coaches, and in previous years, “Fariborz Askari” and “Mohammad Bagheri Motamed” also led the team at times.

Accordingly, Hassan Maleki, the long-time head coach of the Iranian team, was selected as the new head coach of India to prepare the country’s Hugo Pushan for the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.

Maleki has a 15-year history of coaching in the Taekwondo Premier League with various teams.
