Amid the strained relations between Lebanon and the Gulf states, Bahrain has asked the Lebanese ambassador to leave the country within 48 hours due to the Lebanese Minister of Information’s criticism of the Saudi-led coalition policy in Yemen.

According to Sputnik, this was announced by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter.

“The Lebanese ambassador to Bahrain must leave our country within 48 hours in connection with a series of recent unacceptable statements by Lebanese officials,” the Bahraini foreign ministry said in a statement.

It should be noted that Saudi Arabia also summoned its ambassador to Lebanon on Friday and asked the Lebanese ambassador to leave the country within 48 hours. The Saudi Foreign Ministry also announced an immediate halt to imports from Lebanon.
