Banks and stock exchanges are not closed today

“All branches of banks in Tehran are active today (Tuesday, May 17),” said Alireza Gheitasi, secretary of the Coordinating Council of State-Owned Banks, according to the Iran Economist.

“Mohammad Hadi Salimizadeh”, the public relations manager of the Stock Exchange and Securities Organization, also announced that the stock exchange transactions today (Tuesday) will be carried out according to the normal routine and will not be closed.

According to the Iran Economist, “Abed Maleki”, the deputy governor of Tehran, had announced that the air pollution emergency committee would be closed for Tuesday (May 17) due to very unhealthy conditions for all age groups, all sections of schools, offices and universities.

He said: “Air pollution is intensifying today and for this reason it was decided to close all offices, universities and schools in Tehran.”
