According to the schedule, the 16 teams from the Asia-Pacific region will have to compete in four groups of four teams in the first qualifying round. In the end, the top three teams in each group advance to the next round to meet in two groups of six teams. At the end of each group, three teams will be allowed to participate in the 2023 World Cup.
