“Beigi” medal was decided / defeat of four Iranian representatives



According to IRNA, on Monday night, following the Asian Junior Boxing Championship in Amman, Jordan, five Iranian representatives went to the ring in the quarterfinals, which resulted in four defeats and only one victory.

Accordingly, “Nima Beigi”, the representative of our country in the weight of 54 kg, won her bronze medal by defeating “Shabab Abdullah” from Kuwait while advancing to the semifinals. In the next stage, he will fight against “Alba Mublin Pamisa” from the Philippines. Beigi defeated Kozai Al-Sud from Palestine before attending the quarterfinals.

In other fights, “Ali” Asghar Afshari (57 kg) lost to “Bakhtiaran Arabayev” from Kazakhstan and failed to reach the semifinals.

“Amir Abbas Kaboudvand”, our country’s 60 kg boxer, lost to “Sokhrab Aminov” from Uzbekistan, and in the weight category of 63.5 kg, “Mohammad Parsi” lost to “Wenshaj” from India.

Also, “Sina Mortazavi” in the weight category of 67 kg lost to “Aslam Setov” from Kazakhstan and failed to reach the semifinals.

Earlier, Alireza Mousavi, Seyed Ali Akbar Mirahmadi and Abolfazl Dana had also reached the semi-finals and won their bronze medals.

The Iranian team will have four representatives in the semifinals, which had reached 10 medals in the previous period of this competition.

Reza Mehdipour’s national youth and youth boxing teams are led by the head coach and Morteza Sepahvandi, Mehdi Tolouti and Mohammad Mehdipour as the coach.
