The security and privacy of some of the most popular messaging apps has been reviewed by the Electronic Frontiers Foundation.

The Electronic Frontiers Foundation (EFL) examines the security and privacy of some of the most popular messaging applications with different components. According to the surveys, ChatSecure, Pidgin, Signal, ایل Silent, ‌ Circle, Telegram and Text Secure applications have received full marks from the initial surveys. On the other hand, Skype and WhatsApp programs are not given a good score in some areas.

Despite widespread Internet surveillance, cyberspace users need secure and accessible media to communicate with each other via computer or mobile phone. Many tech companies have come up with a secure application or messenger for this purpose, but are these tools secure enough?

Very few messaging apps are user friendly

In the first phase of its evaluation campaign, the EFL Foundation will evaluate a number of these applications on a different basis, and will then examine applications with higher security ratings. Of the current messaging apps, only a handful meet their needs, and few are user-friendly. In fact, the issue of security on the one hand and the user-friendliness of the program has caused a limited number of platforms to be considered.

Given that a large number of messaging applications are now fully encrypted, it is expected to be more secure than in the past, but this is apparently not the case. However, the report notes that even these results can not guarantee the security of applications. Rather, these evaluations indicate that these projects are on the right track.

This is in case the FBI has also classified the security and accessibility of encrypted Telegram, WhatsApp i and iMessage chats. According to this classification, Telegram encrypted chats are difficult to access and WhatsApp chats are easy to access.

WhatsApp, Viber, Skype and Facebook Messenger messaging apps are less secure than other apps on this list. This is if the highest score is given to applications such as Signal and Telegram.

Reputable magazines Rolling Stone and Property of the People have received documents from the FBI that classify popular applications from this perspective. It should be noted, however, that the documents are not confidential, but there is sensitivity to their data.

Undoubtedly, almost all messaging applications are trying to create a more secure environment for their users to operate. But according to surveys, signal and telegram security is higher than other apps, but Apple’s WhatsApp and iMessage conditions are different. Although Apple CEO has repeatedly spoken about protecting users’ privacy and focus on their security, the app has performed disappointingly well in evaluations.
