“Dell Noor” exhibition reviving the field of mirror work

According to the reporter of Tavana Journalists Club, the opening ceremony of “Dell Noor” exhibition began with the welcoming of Seyed Amirnaser Javed, the deputy head of the art department in international affairs, and Mustafa Momenirad, the director of the architecture center of the art department, to the artists and those interested in the event.

Kufic writing; Manifestation of spirituality and growth

In the opening ceremony of this exhibition, Homayoun Moghadis, a professor and researcher in the field of calligraphy and graphics, said: “The upcoming exhibition is the only thing we could do for the art of mirror work and kufi painting, which had been trampled upon after many barriers, and faced with the breaking of movement for this sacred line.” let’s do. With the efforts of Professor Jazayeri, institutions such as the Center for Architecture in the field of art came into being and asked me to train students in this field.

At the end, Moghadis emphasized that looking at the Kufic script is like looking at something sacred, and added: The art of mirroring and Kufic painting is a manifestation of spirituality and growth. We are trying to return this art, which had achieved a great position until the 6th century, to architecture and the tradition of writing, because it will be a source of pride for all of us Iranians and Islam.

An exhibition aimed at preserving and reviving Islamic art

In this opening ceremony, Akbar Shirmohammadzadeh, the educational and artistic officer of the Islamic Architecture Center, announced the statistics of the participants and the production works of the educational courses of the Architecture Center of the Art Department. 88 works from 46 artists were approved and in the continuation of the exhibition “From the Light” with the participation of a total of 100 students, 250 works were received, which finally reached 75 works from 26 artists. You can see these works in the upcoming exhibition.

In the end, Shermohammadzadeh said: This exhibition was held in line with the preservation and revival of Islamic art and the restoration of related works in the historical building.

“Dell Noor” is a revival of the field of mirror work

In this ceremony, Siavash Tarzi, an artist of mirror work, while thanking “Dell Noor” for holding an exhibition by the Art Architecture Center, referring to the three-year process of training students in the field of mirror work, considered holding this exhibition as a revival of this underpaid art. And he added: We are hopeful and optimistic about the beginning of practical use of this art in home architecture. We also decide to introduce other arts such as plastering, brickwork, etc. into the architecture of houses.

I have to say; The “From Light” exhibition is the collective work of mirror artists under the supervision of Siavaresh Tarzi and Kufinagar under the supervision of Homayoun Moghadis, who have received the necessary training in the Islamic Architecture Center for the past two years to master these two precious ancient arts.

The works collected by Akbar Shirmohammadzadeh, the artistic director of the exhibition, were collected through artistic processes and group judging and were transferred to the number one gallery of Farhangsarai Niavaran for viewing and sale.

It should be remembered that this decorative art mostly creates a special effect in religious places and tombs. Many artists in Iran are engaged in this profession and art, and the Islamic Architecture Center has made many efforts to revive this ancient art by nurturing and training students.

Also, this center has tried to go to the Kufic line in the field of revival of ancient architectural traditions; A line that was left out of the agenda of calligraphers and artists to decorate architectural buildings due to the popularity of the naskh line in the past centuries.

Those interested in viewing or buying artworks of artists participating in the “Ez Del Noor” exhibition can visit the exhibition venue from Saturday 18 to Thursday 23 December from 10:00 to 19:00 and on Friday from 14:00 to 19:00.
