Deputy Minister of Arts: The credit of the Islamic Republic is to its art and culture

At the beginning of the visit, explanations about the capacities created by the “Iranian Theater Television” system for the festival to the Deputy Minister of Arts, including creating a space in this system that, in addition to eliminating the submission of CDs by applicants to participate in the festival, Different sections and the possibility of increasing the number of elected members without geographical restrictions were presented.

In this meeting, Mahmoud Salari, while expressing sincerity and do not be tired, told the organizers of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival: “The credit of the Islamic Republic of Iran is for its art and culture, and the showcase of art and culture is the Fajr festivals.” I hope that all the friends, as they have taken special care so far, will act in such a way that the Fajr Theater Festival will be held in a dignified manner. I remember from our student days to attend the Fajr Theater Festival as a participant, how much taste and desire we experienced, because just attending Fajr was important to us. The Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, pointing out that what we should try to preserve in the Islamic Republic of Iran is to protect our discourses, emphasized: a discourse that is based on terms and if we take its terms from it will collapse. Therefore, in the fields of general and specialized culture, it is necessary for all of us to work to find, preserve and promote our discourse terms. What has made me reluctant over the years is that sometimes in our festivals we have not paid attention to the terms of our discourse.

Salari went on to say that he did not mean “term”, “word”: “Term is all that can carry the burden of a discourse, and we are responsible for monitoring, caring for and promoting them.”

* Emphasis on the non-competitive aspect of Fajr Theater Festival

Hossein Mosafer Astaneh, the secretary of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival, while explaining the activities of the festival organizers, said: The secretariat of the 40th Fajr Theater Festival started its work as soon as the 39th Fajr Theater Festival ended in 1399. We tried to balance the competitive sections as much as possible because my friends know that I believe that if we want to be as big as the world’s most prestigious festivals, we need to focus more on the non-competitive side of the festival. However, we are currently witnessing an intermediate festival. In the nations section, we have also paid attention to the presence of works from our neighbors, which we hope will not harm our plans due to the current coronary conditions.

He said that one of the constant concerns of the theater people is the lack of attention to the provincial theater, adding: There has been attendance for these loved ones by participating in provincial theater festivals.

Referring to the history of holding the provincial Fajr section in previous years, Mosafarastaneh explained: “This year, it was decided that with the participation of other provinces, we will see the resumption of sections of the festival outside Tehran, including the opening ceremony with the participation of the governor.” Yazd and other institutions of the province will be held there.

The secretary of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival also announced the competition of 321 plays in the playwriting competition.

Qader Ashna, Director General of Performing Arts, in a short speech, referring to the figures announced by the Secretary of the 40th Fajr Theater Festival and emphasizing the presence of 321 applicants for the playwriting section, said: The focus is on national identity. Which we hope will lead to the glorious establishment of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival.

The 40th edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival will be held from February 5 to 6 under the auspices of Hossein Mosafer Astaneh.
