Dimension 9000 vs. Snapdragon 8 Generation 1: CPU stronger but GPU weaker


MediaTek unveiled the 9,000-dimensional flagship chipset a few weeks ago, claiming that their product could beat competitors. The company has now released the results of several benchmarks to prove its previous claims.

Both chips have almost the same configuration because they are made with 4nm lithography and based on the v9 logo architecture. Both will have one Cortex-X2 core, three Cortex-A710 cores and four Cortex-A510 cores. It is said that Samsung Exynos 2200 is produced with the same configuration.

The next benchmark is Geekbench 5, in which the Dementity 900 received 1237 and 4324 points in its single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. On the other hand, Snapdragon 8 reference 1 mobile phone has 1235 and 3837 points. Interestingly, the iPhone 13 with the A15 chip scored 1730 and 4700.

The 9000 dimensionality is weaker in the GPU

MediaTek’s flagship chipset scored 17,573 in the PCmark benchmark, slightly higher than Qualcomm’s flagship chip with a score of 17,215. The Dimension City 9000 also outperforms several graphic benchmarks, including GFX-Manhattan 3.0. The chip scored 238 frames per second in the benchmark, while Apple’s Snapdragon 8 generation 1 and A15 scored 268 and 215, respectively. The 9000 Dimension in GFX-Manhattan 3.1 also scored 162, while the iPhone 13 Pro scored 181.

MediaTek chipset recorded 43 frames per second in Aztec test with Vulkan standard and 42 frames per second with OpenGL standard. Snapdragon scores in these tests are 49 and 43 frames per second, respectively. Dimension City 9000 also received a score of 1024 in the ETHZ AI (v5) benchmark.

The MediaTek chip will likely be available on Xiaomi, Honor, Oppo and Vivo next year.
