Discovery of 13 new minerals in the country

The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and the head of the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization announced the discovery of 13 new types of minerals in the past five years and the increase in the number of minerals in the country to 81 elements.

“Alireza Shahidi” in an interview with IRNA economic reporter added: “In the past, based on the available information, there was talk of 68 types of minerals in the country.”

The head of the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization of the country stated: Considering that in recent years in the public and private sectors the use of devices that perform better analysis of mineral elements compared to the past has increased, the existence of 81 types of minerals in the country has been proven. Is.

He believes: Due to the mineral diversity and the special geological situation of the country, the number of elements in the country can reach 85.

Shahidi pointed out: In the periodic table of elements, there are 15 rare light and heavy earth elements that the rare light earth elements of this table have been identified in the country.

He continued: “We are now seeking to explore the rare elements of heavy soil in the country, which are among the economic elements.”

According to IRNA, Iran has 81 different types of minerals. Iran’s proven iron ore reserves are 2.7 billion tons (eight tenths of the world’s total reserves) and copper ore reserves are 2.6 billion tons (four tenths of the world’s reserves). Iran also has 11 million tons of zinc (4% of world reserves).

The total proven reserves of Iran’s mines are estimated at about 60 billion tons, which is expected to reach more than 100 billion tons with the implementation of the country’s first exploration priority in an area of 500,000 square kilometers. Therefore, the mining sector and mining industry is one of the most important and influential areas in the production and trade of the country.

Information about the 13 newly discovered elements will be announced soon through the relevant authorities.

Earlier, the head of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization told IRNA: “Today, our effort in the Geological Survey Organization is to provide less risky areas to the private sector due to the very diverse information available in this organization over the years. Can also achieve its own interests.

Shahidi stated: The Geological Survey has been using the aerial geophysics information layer to explore hidden reserves for about 20 years and has harvested nearly 640,000 kilometers of aerial geophysical lines.

He continued: to achieve the goals, it is necessary to harvest about 2 million and 750 thousand linear kilometers.

The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, referring to the suspension of aerial geophysics in the last two years, noted: “From late November or early December, one of the latest works of this organization on aerial geophysics in the” Divandara “region of Kurdistan province will begin again and hope We are going to make a good exploration of hidden resources.
