Former head of Sada-e Azadi Basij dies / Message of condolence from Fatah Narrative Foundation


According to Fars News Agency, “Mahmoud Atefi”, a Revolutionary Guards fighter and a veteran of the Holy Defense, passed away today (Tuesday, February 26, 2015) due to cardiac arrest.

Sardar Atefi, a 40 percent veteran, passed away on the 5th of Bahman in Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital in Tehran. He is the brother of the martyrs Abbas and Akbar Atefi, who achieved the rank of veteran in 1987.

He was born in Rasht and in his work record he was in charge of the ideology of the Guilan Corps, the director of the Radio and Television Basij and the director general of public relations of this organization and the director of the Cinema and Performing Arts Organization of the Holy Defense Foundation.

Seyyed Mohammad Ashar Naderi, head of the Fatah Narrative Cultural Foundation, sent a message of condolences on the death of Sardar Mahmoud Atefi, former head of the Radio and Television Basij.

The text of the condolence message is as follows:

With deep sorrow and grief, I offer my condolences to the family of the late Haj Mahmoud Atefi, a committed official and valuable brother.
Undoubtedly, Haj Mahmoud Atefi, who has served for many years in the body of the Basij and revolutionary institutions such as the Radio Basij and the Public Relations of the Radio and Television, will carry out effective and fruitful activities that, God willing, will remain a good journey for this dear man.
For my part, I offer my condolences to the people of Iran, especially the family of the deceased, for this great loss, and I travel to God Almighty for him, and I wish him good company.
