Geekbench Core i9 12900HX benchmark – up 14% better than 12900HK

We will soon see the first Intel laptop processor with 16 cores, which is why the Core i9 12900HX benchmark in Geekbench Has been disclosed.

An unnamed gaming notebook from Lenovo with a 16-core Core i9 12900HX chip that uses BGA-designed Alder Lake HX desktop silicon has been tested in Geekbench. This processor has more cores and strings than the current mobile flagship called Core i9 12900HK with 14 cores of 20 threads.

The new processor reports a base frequency of 2.5 GHz and a boost of 4.89 GHz, but it is likely that its boost frequency will increase to 5.0 GHz in the final version. We are currently seeing the preliminary results and will have to wait for more tests.

The laptop is also equipped with GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics, which is the fastest separate graphics for notebooks with Ampere GA103 graphics processor.

The Core i9 12900HX scored 19 points in the Geekbench single-core test in 1921 and 15,974 in the multi-core test. Unfortunately, the Core i9 12900HK is not yet in the official Geekbench charts and the average score is not known, but the latest scores of this processor are 1800 and 14000, respectively. This means (probably) 7 and 14% better performance than the HX model.

Unfortunately, there is no complete information on the Alder Lake HX family, and we only know of two models, the 12900HX and 12650HX, which will have a higher base power of 55 watts. These processors are based on 16 desktop cores of silicon and, of course, have a smaller number of graphics (integrated) cores.
