According to Tasnim news agency, the twelfth week of Italian Serie A matches started on Friday night with a match between Empoli and Genoa at Carlo Castellani Stadium, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Domenico Cristito’s goal in the 13th minute from the penalty spot caused Genoa to take the lead very quickly. In the second half, however, the situation changed and Federico Difrancesco and Simon Zorkowski opened the scoring for Davide Ballardini in the 62nd and 72nd minutes. Of course, this was not the end of the matter and Flavio Bianchi scored Genoa’s equalizer in the 89th minute.
Empoli failed to secure their sixth win of the 2021-22 season, temporarily climbing to eighth place in Serie A, and Genoa, who missed out on a win for the eighth consecutive game, are seventeenth in the table with nine points.
