Hacker attack on LinkedIn and disclosure of 500 million user account information

Recently, we saw the Facebook site hacked and leaked information of its 533 million users, which could be freely accessed through the Internet. There are now reports that the information of 500 million LinkedIn users has also been hacked and leaked.

According to information published by CyberNews, the hacker announced this information in his personal forum, which is related to a significant part of the users of this social network and about 500 million active accounts in it. The hacker, for example, provided information about 2 million users to the public for free.

This information disclosure includes ID profile and profile link, full name, email, mobile number, employment information and social network profile link. Of course, it is said that the disclosure of profile information has not spread to sensitive information such as credit cards and legal documents. The statement of this site states:

We looked at information that is said to have been extracted from LinkedIn and is now for sale, and we found that it is a collection of information collected from a number of sites and companies. No private information about LinkedIn users has been disclosed.

If you are a LinkedIn user, this is probably the best time to change your LinkedIn password. And this time, try a strong password! Also, don’t forget to enable two-factor authentication on your online accounts.
