Hamas: We seek to reconcile Palestinian groups and counter normalization

The Hamas movement stressed on Tuesday that it would work for reconciliation between Palestinian groups, according to Fars News Agency’s International Group.

News Agency Sputnik “We welcome Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamar’s remarks about reconciliation between Palestinian groups … and we support Algeria’s role,” Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhari was quoted as saying.

He stressed that Hamas supports Algeria in resolving disputes between Palestinian groups and countering normalization with the Zionist regime in the region. Lamarreh said yesterday that the process of reconciliation between Palestinian groups had begun.

The Hamas official had previously said that Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun had chosen the best time to announce a meeting of Palestinian groups, and that Algeria had taken many steps to reclaim its role.

Criticizing the Arab countries’ rush to normalize relations with the Zionist regime and its security and military agreements with the regime, he stressed that Algeria would say it would make every effort to regain the status of the Palestinian issue.

The Algerian foreign minister had said he was optimistic about a compromise between the Palestinian factions, although that was just the beginning. “The aim of our efforts is for the Palestinian side participating in the summit to speak on behalf of all groups,” he stressed.
