The secretary of Khalkhal Rural Women’s Festival of Traditional and Indigenous Foods said: “All foods were participated in this festival in accordance with health protocols, which was warmly welcomed by the people of Khalkhal city and neighboring villages.”

Haghgooi stated: In terms of the autumn season and the cold weather, the introduction of hot-tempered foods was one of the most famous and popular dishes of this festival. And the vitamins attracted the attention of the participants and the jury.

The importance of avoiding fast foods and turning to traditional foods

Ahmad Ghanbari, the deputy governor of Khalkhal, who visited the festival together with the city managers, while positively evaluating the activities of women in the field of handicrafts in this festival along with cooking traditional food, said: cooking food with healthy raw materials and healthy nutrition was the most important feature of this festival. Teenagers were trained to institutionalize traditional cooking at the festival, and mothers and children worked together at the festival to introduce their handicrafts and help other families create a culture for old cooking traditions.

He said: “In addition to the official atmosphere of the festival, this festival was a reminder of the grandmothers’ food in autumn and winter, which was snowy and cold, and these foods with different natures were mostly used by families, who have now given themselves to fast foods. It was irreparable for the body and one of the goals of the festival was to avoid the use of fast foods and to turn to traditional foods.
