Introducing the new GIGABYTE and AORUS gaming laptops at CES 2022

With the introduction of the new generation of Intel and AMD mobile processors, it was expected that a new generation of gaming laptops would be unveiled by various manufacturers. Last night, Alienware and Asus unveiled their latest gaming notebooks with AMD’s latest platform, and now it’s GIGABYTE’s turn to unveil its 2022 gaming laptops. The new GIGABYTE and AORUS gaming laptops, equipped with the twelfth generation of Alder Lake processors, were unveiled at CES 2022.

New GIGABYTE and AORUS gaming laptops

The latest GIGABYTE gaming laptops include the AORUS 17, AORUS 15, AERO 16 and AERO 15 models. All of these models are equipped with Intel Alder Lake-P processors and Nvidia RTX 30 series graphics chips, and each model will be available in different configurations.

New GIGABYTE gaming from AORUS brand

The 17 GB AORUS comes in three configurations. AORUS 17 YE, AORUS 17 XE and AORUS 17 KE. The difference between the three versions of this laptop is more related to the GPU model. The EU version is equipped with 115 watt RTX 3080 Ti 16GB graphics. While the XE comes with a 115-watt RTX 3070 Ti 8GB graphics chip and the KE with a 100-watt RTX 3060 6GB.

All AORUS 17 models can be equipped with Alder Lake-P processors with the Core i9-12900HK flagship. In terms of memory, this device will come with a maximum of 64 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM (two channels) and storage space can be expanded thanks to two M.2 slots with a fourth-generation x4 interface. The AORUS 17 is powered by a 99-watt-hour battery that charges itself with a 240-watt adapter. The screen of this laptop consists of a 17.3-inch FHD panel with a refresh rate of 360 Hz. The weight of this device in the basic version is 2.7 kg.

GIGABYTE has used the Windforce Infinity cooling system to control the temperature of its latest gaming laptops, which are equipped with four air outlets, three heat pipes, dedicated heat pipes for GPU memory, and a GPU dedicated heat pipe.

In terms of design, due to the compactness, the 17-inch display is housed in a 15-inch body, while the touchpad is larger and smarter, and the detection level is 25% wider, capable of detecting erroneous commands. The variety of ports in this device is also remarkable and Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and three image outputs are among the connection options of this laptop.

The AORUS 15 is very similar to the AORUS 17. Except it is equipped with a 15-inch screen. This model also enters the market in three versions, YE, XE and KE, the difference of which, like the bigger brother, is summarized in the GPU section. The display configurations of this laptop also include FHD with a refresh rate of 360 Hz and QHD with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The weight of this model in the base version is 2.4 kg.

AERO series for content designers and producers

In the next row, we have the AERO 16, AERO 17 and AERO 16 Creator laptops from GIGABYTE, which have a simpler appearance compared to the AORUS gaming models. All of these laptops are equipped with screens with very narrow margins with 4K HDR resolution and AMOLED panel and the aspect ratio is 16:10. The body of these laptops is made of aluminum, which is machined with advanced CNC machines. AERO 16 and 17 are also available in three main configurations YE5, XE5 and KE5.

The AORUS 17 comes with a 17.3-inch IPS Mini LED display with UHD resolution that supports 120Hz refresh rate and 1000R HDR in all versions. But AERO 16 XE5 and YE5 / KE5 are equipped with different panels. The best display for the XE5 is a QHD + mini LED display and Samsung AMOLED UHD +. The YE5 model is equipped with Core i9-12900HK processor, 32 GB DDR5-4800 RAM and RTX 3080 Ti graphics at the highest configuration and supports two M.2 GEN 4 X4 slots. The weight of this model is 2.3 kg for the basic configuration.
