Iran’s position on the Ukraine war – Mehr News Agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, Tehran Times newspaper In today’s article, he explained Iran’s position on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The Tehran Times wrote, referring to the apparent reactions to the Ukraine war in the region, that several countries in the region, which are considered allies of the United States, have taken positions that show the gap between Washington and its allies in the region.

The Zionist regime, the most important US ally in the region, has reluctantly condemned the war in Ukraine, and Turkey has criticized the West despite condemning the war.

The gap is even more pronounced in the Arab Gulf states, where they have taken a neutral stance without clear criticism of Russia, calling for a reduction in tensions.

The US Arab allies, who happen to be oil exporters and are expected to curb a sharp rise in oil prices by increasing further oil production, are reluctant to rush to the rescue of Washington, signaling their previous neglect of the United States. Meets their needs.

Iran is the only country in the region that has taken a balanced stance calling for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve disputes, while at the same time emphasizing the dangers associated with NATO’s eastward expansion.

The position was announced in a telephone conversation between Iranian President Ibrahim Ra’isi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

“NATO expansion is a serious threat to the stability and security of independent states in different regions,” Raisi told Putin.

At the same time, the need for diplomacy can not be ignored despite the expansion of NATO, therefore, Iran has stressed the need for diplomacy and dialogue, and Ali Bahadori Jahromi, spokesman for the Iranian government, said: “Concerns about NATO expansion are understandable, but Diplomacy is essential.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also tweeted and explained Iran’s position: “The Ukraine crisis is rooted in NATO provocations.” We do not believe in resorting to war as a solution to this problem. It is necessary to establish a ceasefire and find a political and democratic solution.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh lamented the start of military operations and the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, saying that Tehran was following developments in the country with concern.

Iran’s position on the Ukraine crisis is twofold: understanding Russia’s concerns about NATO expansion and its preference for diplomacy over war.

This was made clear in Khatibzadeh’s statement on the situation in Ukraine. “Unfortunately, the provocative actions of NATO led by the United States have led to a situation that has put the Eurasian region on the brink of a major crisis,” he said.

Iran’s position was evident from Khatibzadeh’s remarks from the very beginning: “As the crisis spreads in Ukraine, Iran calls on all parties to exercise restraint and believes that any action that could escalate tensions should be avoided.”

He also called on all parties to work for a peaceful settlement of the conflict through dialogue.
