Iran’s youth wrestling team became the runner-up in Asia – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news



According to the Mehr news agency and quoting the public relations of the Wrestling Federation, the Asian Junior Wrestling Championships were held on June 29 and 30 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. In the end, the Iranian team was defeated by Mohammad Moradi (71 kg) and Mohammad Jahangiri (110 kg) Gold medal, Payam Ahmadi (45 kg), Ali Ahmadi Vafa (48 kg), Abolfazl Mirshakar (60 kg), Seyed Reza Azarshab (80 kg), Mohammad Reza Gholami (51 kg) and Hamid Reza Keshtkar (92 kg). Bronze was won.

In the team standings, Iran finished runner-up with 174 points, followed by Kyrgyzstan with 182 points and Kazakhstan with 170 points.

In the 45 kg weight class, which was attended by 7 wrestlers, the competitions are held in two groups of 4 and 3 people and are held periodically. Payam Ahmadi won the first round against Taiga Kishida from Japan with a result of 7: 0. In the second round, he defeated Eugen Han of South Korea 8-0, and in the third round, he defeated Shahzad Ruzikhanov of Uzbekistan 6-0 to advance to the semifinals. At this stage, Ahmadi defeated Omar Tentimak Olu of Kyrgyzstan 10-1 to advance to the final. In this match, he lost 4: 4 to Shahzad Rozikhanov from Uzbekistan and won the silver medal.

In the 48 kg weight class, which was attended by 7 wrestlers, the competitions were held in two groups of 4 and 3 people and periodically. In the first round, Ali Ahmadi Wafa defeated Motab Al-Mawlid from Saudi Arabia with a score of 8: 0, and in the next round, he crossed the Ronit Sharma Dam from India with a score of 7: 3 and reached the semi-finals. In this match, Ahmadi Wafa defeated Sardar Khulmurzayev from Uzbekistan 5-1 and advanced to the final match. In this match, he lost to Ronit Sharman from India with a result of 7-6 and won a silver medal.

In the 51 kg weight category, Mohammad Reza Gholami, after a break in the first round, defeated Abdul Aziz Al-Qamdi of Saudi Arabia 9-0 in the second round and advanced to the semifinals. He also lost 9-7 to Kyrgyzstan’s Kubanich Arinov and advanced to the play-offs. In this match, Gholami crossed the barrier of Yeon Gyun Jin, South Korea, with a result of 7: 0 and won a bronze medal.

In the 55kg weight class, Mohammad Kamali lost to Akhhad Khodzha of Kyrgyzstan 8-4 in the second round after a break in the first round, and Kamali dropped out of the competition due to the wrestler’s defeat in the semi-finals.

In the 60 kg weight category, Abolfazl Mirshakar defeated Seumon Hyuk of South Korea 8-0 in the first round. In the second round, he overcame Tajikistan’s Hossein Hassanov 9-7 to advance to the semifinals. At this stage, Mirshakar defeated Shatlik Yunusov of Turkmenistan 8-0 to advance to the final. In the final, he lost 8-5 to Kyrgyzstan’s Janturo Mirzaliyev and won the silver medal.

In the 65kg category, Ahura Boyeri lost to Akubir Angurov of Uzbekistan 5-4 after a break in the first round in the second round and was eliminated from the competition due to the defeat of this opponent.

In the 71kg weight class with 7 wrestlers, the competitions will be held periodically in groups of 4 and 3 people. Mohammad Moradi lost in the first fight with a result of 8: 3 against Amir Shah Wahabov from Uzbekistan. He won the match against Eugene Takahi from Japan with a result of 7-4 and went to the semi-finals as the second person in this group. At this stage, Moradi crossed the Zhumart Aralov Dam in Kyrgyzstan 5-4 and advanced to the final. In the final match, he defeated Amir Shah Wahabov of Uzbekistan 2-2 to win the gold medal.

In the 80 kg weight category, Seyed Reza Azarshab won the first round 9-0 against Kamranbek Otkirov of Uzbekistan and advanced to the semifinals. At this stage, he defeated Kazakhstan’s Bibit Kuraganov 4-1 to advance to the final. In the final, he lost 6-5 to Asanishev of Kyrgyzstan to win the silver medal.

In the 92 kg weight category, Hamidreza Keshtkar won the first round against Ansar Rahmat Zoda of Tajikistan 8-0 and advanced to the semifinals. At this stage, he lost to Norbulat Sirgabay Olu from Kyrgyzstan 5: 3 and went to the qualifying match. Keshtkar defeated Utam Rana of India 8-0 in this match and won the bronze medal.

In the 110kg category, Mohammad Jahangiri defeated Bahram Kurbanov of Kyrgyzstan 7-1 in the first round, and in the semifinals, he defeated Si Yeon Kim of Korea 8-0 to advance to the final. In this match, Jahangiri defeated Pardip Singh Khosa from India with a score of 8: 0 and won the gold medal.
