Isfahan was chosen as the host of the World Judo Day ceremony



In an interview with IRNA on Saturday, Hossein Zibaei stated: “This ceremony will be held on Thursday this week from 3 to 5 pm in the historical Naghsh Jahan Square in Isfahan with the presence of 250 non-Hall judokas and teenagers, boys and girls.”

He continued by saying that “Judo is alive in Iran” will be the slogan of this year in Iran: “Since the World Judo Federation has suspended Iran, holding this event shows the legitimacy and interest in the field in our country.”

The Deputy Minister of Sports Development of the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Isfahan added: This special program will be held in four sections, including speeches by officials, performance of techniques by athletes and other cultural and sports activities.

Zibaei, referring to the presence of Arash Mirasmaili, a former nationalist and president of the federation, at the World Judo Day ceremony, stated: “We hope that the problem of suspending Iran will be resolved as soon as possible so that we can see the development of the discipline in the country and in the province.”

After the 2019 World Championships, the World Judo Federation suspended the Iranian Federation permanently. After our country’s complaint, the Supreme Court of Sports announced that the period of this suspension should be specified. Judo gave Iran.

There are about 375,000 organized athletes and 1,700 clubs in Isfahan province.
