Israel rejects UAE request to buy defense system



According to IRNA, the news website Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed announced today (Sunday) that “Israel has refused to sell two air defense systems to the UAE.”

The website quoted the Israel Hume newspaper as saying that Israel refused to hand over air defense systems to Abu Dhabi due to the free movement of Iranian citizens to the UAE.

The newspaper said in a report published today that Israel had rejected the UAE’s request to sell the “Iron Dome” and “Magic Wand” systems used to intercept short-range and cruise missiles.

The Zionist newspaper claimed that Israel had refused to sell the two air defense systems to the UAE because it would allow Iranians to enter and move freely on its territory.

Israel Hume has estimated the value of buying the defense systems needed and requested by the UAE at billions of dollars.

Israel Hume noted that despite the UAE’s fear of Iran’s nuclear project and the possibility of an Iranian attack, the country not only has full diplomatic relations with Tehran, but also has extensive trade with it, to the extent that both Israel and the West, the UAE. According to the newspaper, a worrying development took place last month, which showed the strengthening of relations between the UAE and Iran, where the UAE Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed, in a telephone call with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, announced that relations The two countries are improving and growing.

Israel Hume called the visit of Tahnoon bin Zayed, the UAE national security adviser to Iran, and his meeting with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and his Iranian counterpart (Ali Shamkhani) another sign of the development of relations between the two sides.

In September 2020, the UAE and the Zionist regime, through the mediation of former US President Donald Trump, signed an agreement called Ibrahim and formally normalized their diplomatic relations; An issue that was strongly opposed by the Palestinians and condemned.

Relations between the two sides have developed since last year, with Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi signing agreements in various fields.

The Israeli Minister for Regional Cooperation also recently claimed that Tel Aviv has ties to all Arab countries in the Middle East.

“We have direct and indirect relations with any of the Arab countries in the Middle East, even the belligerent countries,” said Issawi Frigg, the Israeli minister for regional cooperation, in connection with Tel Aviv’s efforts to sign normalization agreements with countries in the region.
