Italy fined 200 million euros against Amazon and Apple!

According to the Fars News Agency media reporter, quoting Euronews, Italy fined Amazon and Apple 200 million euros for violating anti-monopoly rules.

This heavy fine was imposed by the company that monitors the commercial competition of companies with each other in Italy. EU member states, meanwhile, have imposed a number of fines on US and Chinese companies in the field of new technologies in recent months.

A statement from the Italian company said that Amazon was fined € 68,700,000 and Apple € 134,500,000. Restrictions on the sale of Apple products by other sellers on the Amazon website have been cited as the reason for the fines of the two digital world giants.

In response to the company’s fine in Italy, Amazon announced that it would appeal the decision. Amazon has described the decision as “unjustifiable” and “disproportionate”.

Apple Corps has announced that it will appeal the decision. Meanwhile, a consumer protection association in Italy has welcomed the fines imposed on Amazon and Apple.

The Italian Competition Authority had already fined Google € 102 million in May for abusing its superior position compared to other companies.
