Kamala Harris: The likelihood of war in Europe is high

“A diplomatic solution for Ukraine is in everyone’s interest,” the vice president told a news conference focusing on Ukraine, IRNA reported on Sunday.

He added: “We appreciate Ukraine’s desire to join NATO, but it will take time. NATO membership is not possible overnight and needs its own process.”

“We will take a gradual approach to the Ukraine crisis and we believe that President Putin has decided to attack,” Harris told reporters.

Asked if the Italian prime minister had opposed sanctions against Russia, especially in the energy sector, he said: “As I said, NATO is an alliance of different countries.” Each has its own priorities. The United States understands Italy’s concern, but we know what war in Europe means and what it will be like.
