Kiantyre can be revived/merging with other tire makers is a solution

According to IRNA economic reporter, “Jamal Mirzaei” added in a press conference: Kian Tire is the first tire factory in Iran and the Middle East and has a long history.

He said: Today it is the duty of all of us to take the problems of this company seriously and try to solve them, because it has good capacities and has a lot to say in the market.

Mirzaei listed the uncertainty of Kian Tire’s ownership as well as the increase in land value as two basic problems facing this company: due to the decrease in production circulation, it is better for Kian Tire to merge with another company in this field in order to survive, or in any way possible. To be able to maintain its production.

He emphasized: “Kiantyre has a famous and global brand, for which it is expected that a suitable decision will be made by the authorities.”

Also, “Hamidreza Abdulmaleki”, the chairman of the board of directors of the Iran Tire Industry Association, stated in this context: While Kian Tire Company was well managed by the Industry Support Organization of the Ministry of Security for the past five years, the problems of this unit started last year and with Ordered pricing of products started and entered into losses.

He emphasized: Once upon a time, Kiantyre used to produce the best mineral tires as well as the best forklift tires in the country, but today it has stopped production.

This union official stated: With the stoppage of domestic production, mining activists now have to pay about 100 million tomans on average for each pair of Chinese mineral tires.

He clarified: While Kian Tire could have been helped and prevented from closing down by realizing prices and prohibiting mandatory pricing, now that the price of imported mineral and heavy tires has increased, no one cares about consumer protection.

According to IRNA, earlier, the Governor of Tehran announced the readiness to hand over Kian Tire Company to private sector groups or government-affiliated economic organizations and companies, and said: “Negotiations have been conducted in this field, in order to comply with the actions and policies of the 13th Shahid government.” Let’s return this company to the cycle of production boom.

Alborz Rubber Manufacturing Company, known as Kian Tire, is located in the Chahardange section of Islamshahr and Tehran-Saveh Transit Road, next to Iran Khodro Company, which has the capacity to produce 30,000 tons of tires per year.

This company was established in 1337 and after the victory of the revolution, it changed its name to Kian Tire and in 1380 to Alborz Tire.

Kian Tire factory, which was considered to be the largest producer of mineral and dump truck tires in the country and also produced tires for military vehicles and large and special sizes, has been closed since the end of April this year due to the uncertainty of ownership of the factory and financial and raw material problems. The factory is closed to the workers so that about 1,200 families face the problem of unemployment.
