According to IRNA; The first round of the Women’s World Taekwondo Championships with the participation of 170 taekwondo fighters from 31 countries started yesterday (Thursday) at the “Green Hall” hall in Riyadh and will last for three days.

Today (Friday), the struggles of 49-, 57- and 73- weights took place, in which Nahid Kiani, Zahra Sheidaei and Melika Mir Hosseini were the representatives of Iran.

Mania in the 57-kg weight class managed to reach the finals of the World Championships. To advance to the final, she first competed against Elena Mironiuk of Russia, the European champion and runner-up, and won 12-9, then faced Nikita Glasnovic of Croatia, the world bronze medalist, and won the gold round. .

In the third step, the representative of the fourth weight of our country Taekwondo fought with “Elena Krivichenko” from Russia and ended the result 12 to 3 in her favor. In the semi-finals, Mania went against “Aliah Powell” from England, the holder of the bronze medal of the World Championship, the gold medal of the World Junior Championship, etc., and won with a score of 17 to 19 to reach the final of this period of competitions.

The final competitions will take place tomorrow evening (Saturday), when the mania for the gold medal will have to fight with “Margarita Bliznyakova” from Russia, the European champion and the runner-up of the world juniors.

Nahid Kiani, another representative of Iran in this weight, was eliminated from the competition with one victory and one defeat.

Also, Melika Mir Hosseini in the weight of -73 kg stood on the third platform in the world and won bronze. In the first round, he defeated Rama Abulrub of Jordan 13-8 and then defeated Kansel Deniz of Kazakhstan 13-9.

In the semi-finals, he competed against Polina Khan of Russia, the European bronze medalist, who was drawn to a gold round with a score of 10 to 10, and in the end, the Russian representative won so that Mir Hosseini would be satisfied with the bronze medal.
