Mohammad Reza Shajarian, an artist in the field of Iranian traditional song and music, known as “Khosrow Avaz Iran”, died at the age of 80 in Tehran’s Jam Hospital on Thursday night, October 6, 1999, after enduring a long illness.
The late Shajarian suffered from lung disease for many years and in the last days of his life, due to lung problems and unstable breathing, hypotension and loss of consciousness, he was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
Shajarianzadeh was a musician, composer, singer and calligrapher of Iran Zamin in Mashhad and was nominated for two Grammy Awards on October 22, 1969 in Mashhad.
The Canadian newspaper Vancouver’s also named him one of the most important music artists of 2010 and one of the top 50 voices in the world.
During his artistic career, the late Shajarian succeeded in producing 60 music albums, singing in the credits of films such as Loved Ones, Abjad and Winter, and performing dozens of domestic and international concerts.
His body was buried on Saturday, October 7, 1999 in Toos, Khorasan Razavi, in the area of ​​Ferdowsi Tomb.
