Meteorological Organization warns of air pollution in Tehran from Thursday


According to Moj News Agency, the General Meteorological Department of Tehran Province has also issued a yellow warning: on Thursday (January 7) due to air stability, relative stillness of the atmosphere, accumulation of air pollutants, especially particulate matter in the air less than 2.5 microns and reduced quality The weather is forecast to continue until Saturday (January 18).

In these weather conditions, lack of proper wind, local dust occurrence and if fixed and mobile pollutant sources are not controlled, the possibility of increasing air pollution index and reducing air quality to an unhealthy level for sensitive groups and in some hours reducing air quality to an unhealthy level for all groups. It is not far from expectation in the busy and industrial areas of Tehran.

Tehran Meteorological Department recommends optimal management in the use of fuel and operating time of industrial units, avoidance of outdoor presence for people with a history of heart and lung diseases, avoidance of unnecessary travel to busy areas for the elderly and young people he does.

The yellow alert means that atmospheric phenomena will occur that may interfere with travel and daily activities. This warning is issued to raise public awareness so that they can be prepared to deal with atmospheric phenomena that are slightly more severe than usual. Officials, on the other hand, are aware of these warnings so that they can take action if necessary.
