Mirasmaili: Iranian and Turkish judo will have technical exchanges

“Arash Mirasmaili” In an interview with IRNA on Saturday regarding his trip to Turkey, he said: “I left for Turkey at the invitation of the President of the Turkish Federation, who is one of my friends.”

He added: “We signed a memorandum of understanding to establish good cooperation between the two neighboring countries and Muslims and to have exchanges in the technical sector.” Accordingly, joint camps are held free of charge by both parties at the level of different age groups and women.

Mirasmaili continued: “According to this, our country’s youth and youth teams will soon participate in the Turkish joint army, and the Turkish team will also be present in Iran.” The technical exchange of coaches for internships by the two countries is another part of the memorandum.

Regarding the agreement with the Turkish coach, he said: “The initial agreement was reached with” Olympic champion “Hussein Ozkan. He has been the head coach of the Turkish national team for many years. We had talked to him before and we also had a meeting in Turkey. Soon, with the holding of the Iranian national judo team camp, he will leave for our country to evaluate our facilities and conditions. Negotiations continue in Tehran to sign a formal agreement.

The president of the Iranian Judo Federation said: he wants to accept the leadership of the Iranian team. It is good for a Muslim coach to work in our country. He has a brilliant record and he and I know each other well because we have been rivals for years during the championship.

Regarding the time of the coach’s presence in our country, he said: “We will have a meeting with the national team staff on Sunday or Monday to determine the start time of the camp and also the date of Ozkan’s trip.” Preliminary agreements have been reached, but the technical committee of the Judo Federation must also have its own assessment.

Mirasmaili said: “Unless something special happens, this coach is a serious option to lead the Iranian national adult judo team.”
