Bankipour continued: “Incidentally, the number of single girls and boys ready to get married is equal according to the census of 1995, and in this regard, we correspond one by one, and with the conditions of facilitating youth marriage, this peace is created.” Because the supply-demand ratio is proportional in this regard and there are no obstacles in this regard. Of course, the parliament has also increased the marriage facilities up to five times in the youth law.
He added: “Of course, in that speech, there was talk about the age group of women over 30.” According to the 1995 census, there are 1.4 million single girls over the age of 30 and 700,000 women who have lost or divorced their husbands. In other words, about two million and 100 thousand women are ready to get married. Regarding this statistic, I announced that if this number wants to marry boys 4-5 years older than themselves, according to the custom of the society, about two thirds of them are not married.
The head of the Joint Population Youth Commission in the parliament stated: “My recommendation in this regard was that marriage of the same age should be considered because psychologists also confirm that the intellectual age in marriage is meant, not the age of identity card.”
Bankipour added: “This false culture that men should be older than women in marriage has hit us.” With that in mind, at that meeting, my emphasis was on peer marriage.
He emphasized: “Also, another issue that was raised in the mentioned meeting was due to the fortunes, obstacles and references that we had from women who had married some thinkers abroad, but the Iranian identity cards of their children had not been issued.” Although this law was approved by the parliament many years ago.

Bankiypour pointed out: Although I had emphasized in that meeting, which was a scientific forum, that this discussion is more of a statistical analysis, but unfortunately my statements were fragmented and this negative atmosphere was created. For my part, I apologize on behalf of those false media to the women who may have been offended by this fragmentation, but I believe that the issue should not be erased.
