Opera browser is equipped with ChatGPT

Opera adds a GPT-enabled smart chat tool to its browser sidebar that provides a short summary of web pages and articles created by it.

According to Aetna of Mehr, this new feature, called “shortening”, is part of the company’s broader plans to integrate artificial intelligence tools into the Opera browser and is similar to what Microsoft is doing with the Edge browser.

As shown in the demo in Opera’s blog post, you can enable this feature by selecting the “shorten” button to the right of the address bar. Then, a sidebar with ChatGPT is added to the left side of the browser, creating a neat summary of the article or web page you’re looking for.

Opera’s announcement comes just days after Microsoft released AI-powered Bing and Edge.

The company’s search engine enables access to an AI chatbot that answers questions and can similarly summarize web pages or articles, as well as generate texts for social media posts and more. Google also showed off its Bard AI search bot earlier this week, though it’s not yet available to the public.
