According to Fars News Agency, Islamic Arts Department Berlin Pergamon Museum, Hosts a workshop on silk fabrics and its application in Iran. This workshop will be held on March 12, 2022 (Saturday, March 12) at James Simon Gallery.

The exhibition “Iran: Five Thousand Years of Culture and Art” has recently started its work in the Islamic Arts section of the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, and educational workshops will be held during the exhibition. One of these workshops, which will be held at the James Simon Gallery, is about Iranian silk fabrics.

Silk fabric is one of the oldest and most valuable fabrics in the world. The history of silk production in Iran dates back to pre-Islamic times. At that time, three types of silk fabrics were produced: Diba (plain colored silk), Parnian (multicolored silk and often seven colors in simple and floral designs) and Parand (colored silk fabrics with fringed designs).

In this workshop, the history of silk production in Iran, its value, trade routes, etc. will be discussed.
