Plan to connect Tehran Metro Line 2 to the new East Terminal

According to Fars News Agency’s urban group, Ali Emam, CEO of Tehran Metro Company stated: Following the meeting held between the Deputy of Transportation and Traffic of Tehran Municipality and the CEO of Tehran Metro Company, by the order of Mojtaba Shafiei, Deputy Mayor, 2 Metro to be examined for implementation.

He added: “According to the plans and operational budgeting of the Metro Company for 1401, the Eastern Development Project Line 2 with a length of about 4 km from the Cultural Center station (which is in operation) to the new East Terminal with the construction of at least 2 stations. It has been seen in the capital’s comprehensive railway plan, which has been considered by the transport and traffic authorities so that studies related to its feasibility can be reviewed.

The CEO of Tehran Metro Company continued: In the current plan, Metro Line 2 will be developed at its eastern end to the new East Terminal; A terminal is defined at the end of the path for line 2.

Imam further said: According to the emphasis of the Sixth Council of Tehran on the operation of the new East Terminal, if the Eastern Development Project Line 2 is launched and completed in the next few years, the new East Terminal and Line 2 Metro will operate simultaneously. Will be upgraded.

It is worth mentioning that in case of timely provision of financial resources in the amount of at least 5 thousand billion Tomans (today’s value of goods and services), the completion of the route and stations of the Eastern Development Project Line 2 will take at least 3 years.
