Pourshib and Karimi traveled to the World Karate Championships



According to IRNA; The final stage of the national karate team selection competitions for the 2021 UAE World Championships started this morning (Saturday) in Shahid Kabkanian Hall.

In the morning, the 67-kg and 84-kg weights competitions were held periodically, and at the end, Seyed Ali Karimi and Zabihullah Pourshib traveled to the world competitions.

Karimi entered the world championships in the weight category minus 67 by defeating Amir Mehdizadeh, Morteza Nemati and Amirreza Mirzaei. Of course, Mehdizadeh, the prominent karateka of our country, after accepting three consecutive defeats and protesting against the referees, did not participate in the return round.

In the weight of minus 84 kg, Pourshib, the captain of the Iranian national karate team, defeated Mehdi Khodabakhshi and Keyvan Baban and obtained a license to participate in the world.

The -60 and +84 kg competitions will be held from 15:30 to complete the national team for the UAE World Championships.

Previously, Ali Asghar Asyabari (75 kg) was selected to participate in world competitions.
