Presentation and management of Nowruz capacity by world heritage sites in Nowruz 1401

“Nowruz, which is the heritage of millennia and centuries, needs to be planned,” said Alireza Asgari Chavardi, director of the Sassanid Archaeological Database, at the conference, noting that world heritage has a special capacity in terms of historical depth.

He added: “Nowruz existed before Zarathustra and the Achaemenids, and the various religions built capacity for Nowruz, especially during the Achaemenid period, when Darius the Great compiled the calendar from April to March. “Nowruz is in the heart of ancient sites.”

Askari clarified: “World heritage sites must present the capacity of Nowruz to the people and manage it properly. “Scientific management of Nowruz has a cultural heritage and we must introduce it to the society.”

“Cultural heritage is expected to manage this cultural and historical burden, and we must be able to use the social responsibility of other institutions and local communities,” said the director of the Sassanid Archaeological Center. “The local community is our tourism target.”

He continued: “This year, after the extensive vaccination that has been carried out in the country, many tourists come to the grounds during Nowruz. “With the arrangements being made for Nowruz today, we will see an increase in sustainable tourism in the field of cultural heritage management for Nowruz.”
