Radeon 680M Integrated Graphics Benchmarks – Faster Than RTX 3050 ?!

A complete and attractive review of Ryzen 6000 APUs on the platform Zhihu Published by one of the engineers in the Lenovo notebook division in China, which covers various points from energy efficiency to the battery life of the new series. The most important issue, however, goes back to the Radeon 680M integrated graphics benchmarks with the modern RDNA 2 architecture.

The Raizen 6000 family uses the Zen 3 Plus architecture with 6nm technology, but the most significant improvement is clearly related to the graphics subsystem, which is now up to 12 computing units based on the RDNA 2 microarchitecture. Radeon 660M and Radeon 680M are two solutions present in the current and (possibly) future desktop chip chips. With a completely newer architecture than Vega, which was used in almost all previous Advisor Mobile processors, we see not only higher performance but also support for Ray Tracing.

The current Zhihu review shows the performance of the Radeon 600M versus the GeForce MX450, which is a separate model with a GP107 chip and Pascal architecture. It seems that with the presence of RDNA 2 integrated graphics, these types of graphics, at least for now, have nothing to say.

In 3DMark tests, the Radeon 680M graphics are faster than the GeForce MX450 25W. The RDNA-2 sample, as mentioned, even uses beam tracking, which is not present in any of the previous Ryzen 4000/5000 Vega or Alder Lake Xe LP integrated graphics.

The study even mentioned the importance of graphic efficiency based on thermal power configuration. The Ryzen 6000HS series are the first Rembrandt APUs ever released with a default power of 35 watts. Of course, this configuration has not been tested because the review focused on the 6000H series with a default thermal power of 45 watts. It is shown here that the Radeon 680M integrated 25-watt graphics provide nearly 38% performance improvement by increasing the power to 42 watts. For example, the reduced Radeon 660M, but this increase will be only 9%.

ComputerBase also tweeted that the Radeon 680M is actually faster than the GeForce GTX 3050 laptop in the 3Mark Port Royal test. This test is for beam tracking and uses a hardware accelerator unit found in both the Nvidia Ampere and AMD RDNA 2 architectures. Of course, the 4 GB memory limit of the Nvidia model causes this difference, and this amount is not enough for the mentioned test.

A series of tests also by PurePC.pl It uses the latest BIOS version for the ROG STRIX G15 notebook with a Ryzen 7 6800H processor.
