Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 6 will likely be cheaper

Samsung foldable phones are among the most expensive phones of this company. The price of Galaxy Z Fold 5 was 1800 dollars at the time of release. But it is possible that Samsung will reduce the price of Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 models. It seems that Samsung will use a different method to make the edges of the display of these phones in order to reduce the price.

According to The Elec report, Samsung Display is likely to use a different method of manufacturing the edges of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Currently, this company uses the MDD method to make the edges of the foldable OLED panels. Changing this method apparently doesn’t affect display quality or screen bezel size, but it does reduce production costs. This factor itself may reduce the final price of these phones.

Price reduction of Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6

The price of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 started at $1,000 when it was launched, but it looks like Samsung could lower those prices for this year’s models. There are also rumors that along with these two models, Samsung will launch an affordable version of these phones at the end of 2024.

Of course, future models will still be expensive phones, and fans of Samsung’s foldable phones will probably turn to the possible Galaxy Z Fold FE, which could be a cheap version of the Z Fold 6. Now in the folding phone market, Chinese brands with lower prices are leading; For this reason, Samsung may want to reduce the price of its upcoming foldable phones to gain more market share.

The folding flagships Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 are likely to be unveiled at the end of July (August 1403), and until then, more information about the price and specifications of these phones will probably be released.
