According to the Mehr news agency, the international freestyle wrestling competitions of the Turkish Yashardoglu Cup as one of the World Union ranking competitions ended after two days of competitors in Istanbul, Turkey, where our country’s representatives won 3 gold and 1 bronze medal.

Accordingly, Amir Mohammad Yazdani in the weight of 70 kg, Ahmad Bazari in the weight of 92 kg and Mohammad Hossein Mohammadian in the weight of 97 kg won the gold medal and Ali Savadkoohi in the weight of 79 kg won the bronze medal.

By attending these competitions, Pejman Dorostkar’s students competed with the title and great contenders and were able to test their technical ability well for the important events ahead.

The performance of our country’s freestyle wrestlers in this international tournament is as follows:

Seyed Ali Azimi (57 kg) lost to Beka Bojiashvili of Georgia 14-4 in the second round after a break in the first round. Due to the presence of this wrestler in the final match, Azimi went to the group of losers. While against Zanabazar, Zandanboud from Mongolia was 8-0 behind and suffered a hand injury and was eliminated from the competition.

In the 61 kg weight category, Saeed Anvari and Mohammad Baqer Yakhkashi competed in the second round after a break in the first round. Yakhkashi won 5-1 in the third round and in the quarterfinals with a score of 7-5 and a technical kick Suleyman Atli defeated world silver and bronze medalist from Turkey and advanced to the semifinals. At this stage, with a result of 9 to 2 and a technical blow, Ravi Kumar won the Olympic silver and world bronze medals from India and went to the ranking match. In the weight of 65 kg, Morteza Ghiyasi defeated another representative of our country in this weight with a result of 10 to 0: Rahman Rahimpour. In the second round, he lost 7-0 to Shamil Mammadov, the world youth champion from Russia, and due to the presence of his opponent in the final, he went to the group of losers. The competitions were eliminated.

Rahman Rahimpour, another representative of our country in the weight of 65 kg, also withdrew from the competitions.

In the 70 kg weight category, Amir Mohammad Yazdani, after a break in the first round, defeated the most qualified European silver medalist from Turkey, Turkey, with a score of 10: 0. In the next round, he lost to James Green, the world silver and bronze medalist from the United States, with a result of 10: 0, and due to the presence of this wrestler in the final match, Fazli went to the group of losers. He won 11-4 and was classified for the match. In this match, Fazli lost to Viktor Rasadin from Russia with a result of 8-4 and a technical blow and the fifth.

In the 74 kg weight category, Mohammad Sadegh Firuzpour defeated Abdullah Abdul Karim of Kuwait 10-0 in the first round. It was finalized. In the final match, Bazari defeated world bronze medalist Erhan Yalaji of Turkey from Turkey with a score of 6 to 1 and won the gold medal.

In the 97kg weight class, Mohammad Hossein Mohammadian defeated Magomedserul Rahimov of Uzbekistan 11-0 in the first round. In the second round, he crossed the Mammad Ibragimov Dam in Kazakhstan 16-4 and advanced to the semifinals. At this stage, with a result of 10 to 0, he defeated Mustafa Sessiz from Turkey and advanced to the final match. In the final match in a close wrestling match, Mohammadian crossed the barrier of world bronze medalist and European champion Alikhan Jabrailov 4: 3 and won the gold medal.
