In an interview with IRNA on Thursday, Daniel Shahbakhsh stated: 10 athletes from the country participated in the world boxing competitions with full preparation and very suitable technical staff, and God succeeded in winning the first medal of the country in the world rankings.
He continued: “Until now, none of the country’s boxing athletes had won medals in any category in the world, and thanks to God and the good prayers of the great nation of Iran, this success was achieved for the country.”
This successful boxer from Sistan and Baluchestan thanked the Boxing Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: “I participated in this period of world competitions with full readiness, so that I always saw myself on the medalists’ platform.”
He emphasized: I have been involved in boxing in Sistan and Baluchestan since I was 13 years old. With the perseverance and support of my coaches such as Mahmoud Nehtani, I have won gold medals in youth and adult categories, gold in Makran Cup international competitions, bronze in international competitions in Turkey and silver. To win the Asian Championship in Dubai and make the country and the province proud.
Shahbakhsh added: “I owe all my successes in the national and international arenas to the blood of the martyrs, the support of the Boxing Federation and the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Sistan and Baluchestan and the efforts of my coach and I hope I can continue to be proud of the country and the talents of Sistan and Baluchestan.” Balochistan to flourish more in sports, especially boxing.
According to IRNA, more than 46,000 athletes have been organized in the form of about 50 provincial boards and 500 city boards in Sistan and Baluchestan. Currently, about 600 athletes are active in boxing in Sistan and Baluchestan.
“Daniel Shahbakhsh” made history at the World Championships in Serbia by reaching the semifinals, but a serious injury did not allow him to go to the ring in the semifinals and ended his career by winning a bronze medal. This was the first boxing medal of Iran in different rounds of the world championship.
