Sherman: We are not discussing European security with Russia

According to IRNA, Wendy Sherman wrote on her Twitter page on Monday, referring to the beginning of her meeting and talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in Geneva, Switzerland: “An extraordinary meeting of bilateral strategic stability talks is currently being held in Geneva.”

He added that the United States would listen to Russia’s concerns and share them.

Sherman is accompanied by Joint Chiefs of Staff James Mingos and Ryabkov by Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.

The United States has said it will not discuss European security without Russia without their presence, which has dealt a major blow to Europeans under both Trump and Biden, including the cancellation of France’s arms deal with Australia.

It also forced the Europeans to comply with its decision to leave Afghanistan, just as it had made false claims to aim at invading the country, Iraq and Syria.

On the other hand, the United States opposes cooperation between Europe and Russia on issues such as economic cooperation and energy transfer, and uses sanctions to try to prevent Russia from coming close to Europe.

A new round of strategic talks between Russia and the United States is taking place due to tensions on the Ukrainian border in Geneva, Switzerland.
