Tehran air quality April 20, 1401 / Air quality index reached 80

According to Moj News Agency, Tehran’s air quality was in an acceptable condition today, Tuesday, April 20, 1401, with an index of 80. Also, the air quality in Tehran over the past 24 hours is still in an acceptable state with an average index of 70.

Predictions made in Tehran Air Quality Control Company indicate that on Tuesday morning (April 30, 1401) with increased morning traffic and no effective wind, air quality in high-traffic areas will be in unhealthy areas for sensitive groups.

Reducing wind speed during the day will limit the spread of pollutants. Continuation of these weather conditions and lack of effective winds until late Tuesday along with increased evening traffic will increase the concentration of suspended particles and therefore air quality in most busy areas will be in the unhealthy range for sensitive groups.

On Wednesday morning (April 31, 1401) with no effective wind, the accumulation of pollutants in the past hours and the beginning of vehicle traffic, increasing the concentration of particulate matter and establishing an unhealthy situation for sensitive groups in most busy areas will not be unexpected.

Continued relative stability of the atmosphere during the day will cause the accumulation of pollutants, also due to the increase in temperature in the afternoon will provide suitable conditions for the production and increase of ozone pollutants, especially in busy areas.

It is worth mentioning that due to the lack of effective winds until the last hours of Wednesday, along with the increase in evening traffic, the concentration of suspended particles will increase and unhealthy conditions are predicted for sensitive groups in most areas.
