Tehran metro is moving towards smartening

According to Fars News Agency’s urban group, Mehdi Shayesteh Asl in his first appearance at the meeting of the Coordinating Council of Deputies and Managers of Tehran and Suburbs Metro Operating Company, which was held in the presence of Tehran Municipality Deputy Transport and Traffic Consultant, at Milad Tower City Observatory: Alireza Zakani, the mayor of Tehran, emphasizes the use of technology and elite capacities and the creation of a smart city, and I believe that we can implement this as the first urban complex, and I do not think this is far from expected.

“The use of artificial intelligence and data mining is a requirement of smart urban management,” he said. “Certainly we can no longer run the city in the traditional way.” Now, given the volume of data and passengers, we need to move quickly towards smartening.

The CEO of Tehran Metro Operation Company continued: Any planning that we want to do in the future must be done on a scientific and up-to-date basis.

He added: “We currently have a lot of statistical information and we must be able to provide this up-to-date data to other departments in accordance with security protocols, so that valuable work can be done in the field of implementing new plans and ideas, as well as Analyze data and use it in decisions.

Shayesteh Asl pointed to the need for interaction between the Deputy of Transportation and Traffic of Tehran Municipality in the field of smartening and said: a joint movement should be created between all sections of this deputy. For example, if we solve the problem of terminals, we can significantly help improve the service in the metro, which in turn is effective in reducing traffic. We really have to make the best decisions by analyzing the available data and statistics. And by spending the budget in the sectors that have the most impact, we can provide the services needed by the citizens with better speed.
