Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi said he knew who was behind the assassination attempt.

According to Sputnik, Mustafa Al-Kazemi Prime Minister of Iraq Organizers are aware of the attempt to send an UAV containing explosives to his home, he said.

Al-Arabiya TV first reported that al-Kadhimi had been injured and taken to hospital, but Iraqi security officials said the prime minister had not been injured. Al-Kadhimi confirmed on Twitter that he was fine.

According to a security source, three security officers were injured in the assassination attempt on the prime minister.

“We will prosecute those who committed the assassination, we know very well who they are and we will expose them,” al-Kadhimi told an emergency meeting of the Iraqi government after the attack.

This morning, the Iraqi Security Intelligence Unit announced that an assassination attempt had been made on Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi by attacking his home in the Khazra region.
